Third Rossendale Meet 31 May to 7 June 2012 Brow Edge Farm, Rossendale, Lancashire. BB4 5UBVery basic: greenfield, hard standing & a tap. No site charges. Children & dogs ok. Just one restriction: no chemicals to go in toilets because disposal on site is a dry well cess pit and soak-away. Marquee, gas BBQ and a fire to sit around of an evening. Developments since the last Rossendale meet - Making it a week so that those further away don't have to travel over the weekend if they can avoid it. Open house anyway: stay for as many nights as you wish. Hard standing is completely clear now apart from the container that lives in one corner so there's space for 20 vans around the sides with ample separation between vans & leaving room to play with in the middle. Can arrange to have Portaloos on site if there's enough demand. Should know soon what the cost may be. There'll be a Jubilee beacon on Cribden above the site, about 10 - 10.30 pm on the Monday. Members welcome to take part or not as they please. Doesn't affect what we get up to on the site. One that crept up: it's 10 years since Colin founded CF-UK so it would be nice to commemorate the occasion in some way. Open to suggestions. ---------------------- | Sun 12 Feb 2012 @ 20:46 |

Something else that's happening: East Lancs Railway is running a 1940s weekend 2-4 June. Usually a good do. Can avoid parking hassles by taking the 464 bus from bottom of the lane to site; bus stops in Rawtenstall centre not far from the station. EDIT. Spitfire flypast (20 minutes) over Bury on 2 June according to BBMF flying programme. Exact time not given yet. ---------------------- | Sun 12 Feb 2012 @ 21:52 |

Portaloos: £70 per unit for the week (same discount as Lancashire Militia). Probably would need 2 units for full site if no-one used their own facilities. Need 2 weeks notice to make the booking. ---------------------- | Mon 13 Feb 2012 @ 09:51 |

Quick update. Karaoke Derk & family Mikeyboy philbradshaw rae&annwaters rich4you A swap jumble has been suggested. I.e., whatever spares you've got that you don't need, you lay them next to your van & if people are interested they ask you what you want for them or they might have something you need. ---------------------- | Sun 19 Feb 2012 @ 19:03 |

Hove to Rossendale: 282 miles. 4 hours 44 mins est. Parent's house, as good as half way between the two, directly en route: 167 mi, 2 hours 59 mins from Hove. Would love to come to this, but if its half term then its time away from kids (not a camper van so family coming too is not an option). I'll check our school's half term dates and hopefully there'll be enough time left over that I can do some family time as well as this. I'll just need Alena to join me on the trip in a Bedford convoy, for when I break down. ---------------------- | Mon 20 Feb 2012 @ 22:10 |
