A lot of work there matey !

Like your blog - it'll be full of swear words soon; self-builds are like that. It's certainly going to be unique and very eye-catching though, no doubt about it :)

watch the weight of the units you put in mad, when i first did mine it was ok but the springs started to sag and now are sad instead of smiling. i have to get them re tempered and re bent upwards.
I lightened the load after the 2nd year when the breakdown truck couldn't lift it.
i found the best wood to use was the cheap cladding from B&Q
it's light and strong and sands down nice. looks really good with a light varnish.

the framework was 1"x1" and i used the ambi body as much as i could.
additional spring assisters might be a good idea too and would make the ride more comfortable.

noted. scrapped my idea of building frames, then installing for a more direct approach - using the ambi body to screw 1" batons to and work from them.

could do with a source for 12v blue led clusters & other 12v lighting options (aesthetics only, floodlights need not apply!)

Ebay is by far the best bet - well cheaper than your DIY or specialty shops on the 'net.

B&Q and the like sell them as uplighters for posh garden patios etc., but they charge a small fortune for them.

One of the cleverest bits of lighting I've ever seen was a series of fibre-optics in the roof-lining.. at night it looked like stars. The guy had made it by cannibalising a cheap fibre-optic novelty light !

Lots of fibre-optic Christmas trees going for under 50 quid on Ebay at the moment if you fancied doing something different.. rip-em apart and re-install :)

started up this blog again & will be posting more to it later today (thurs).

got some carpet laying to do.

Think i've almost decided to scrap the carpet for the floor in favour of wipe-clean lino/vinyl, but will keep it on the side panels. :)...
