Northern meet up

Alex and I met up at the Dunoon Games weekend this year and we will be going again next year.

We discussed it and decided to make it a bedford cf meet up for the Northern crew. It is unfortunate that it is the same weekend as the BG but many from the north do not go down to it.
So all you Scots members [and any one else who wants to come]put the last weekend in August down for a weekend meet at Dunoon.

Hi Joe
You could always come to the BG - it's not too far from you and this last year we had at least 50 (CF) campers on the site.
We are also on for 2 days this year - Sat & Sun - but do have to be clear of the site on the Sun evening.
We are also looking at having the clubhouse open on the Sat night, with a bit of entertainment.
NO! RH is not doing a stripshow! (Not a pretty sight )
Keep watching the BG website for more info.

Allan

its the cowal gathering which is the largest highland gathering in the

world, pipebands, dancing, highland games.the midges are not so bad

there, more out in the countryside, where they like too use their

teeth;D, some avon products work(skin so soft i think) and burning

candles keep them at bay unless they like the taste of you.

citronella candles [we are now so organised we have two burners with oil... but we don't know if they work yet.]
nobody is organising Cyril.. it is an informal meet up for the Scots lads [and lasses] who can't get down to the other meets.
Alex and I met up there last year but we go every year and to the ceilidh after..........;]
so anyone who wants to join us will be welcome..

Cowal Games Dates

The Cowal Games will be held on the 24th, 25th and 26th of August this year, with the Saturday beingthe main day. The official website is http://www.cowalgathering.com Dunoon can be reached by ferry by following signs for Greenock which start in the centre of Glasgow. There are 2 ferry operators Caledonian Macbrayne (http://www.calmac.co.uk)and Western Ferries (http://www.western-ferries.co.uk) the sail lasts about 20 minutes. The alternative route is by road from Glasgow over the Erskine Bridge travelling up the A82 by the side of Loch Lomond until Tarbet where the A83 takes you up the Rest and be Thankful (a famous long climb to test your CF) where after desecending down Glen Kinglas you will turn left down the A815 signposted for Dunoon. Many people when visiting Dunoon drive one way and sail the other. The drive takes you through some very picturesque scenery and is well worth it.

except when it's raining alistair
as we found out last year at the wedding meet up.

unfortunately Blod will not be making it to Dunoon again this year [due to certain b******* trashing her again] but we still hope to get up there with a tent.
