:) As I only have a computer at work, I'm limited to when I can visit. I love all the banter and jokes and have found the site very interesting and helpful. I try to visit most days to check out the latest postings!

Hello Roi
I cannot to find a way to put a photo of my camper on the site. Did you close this facility, I have found an error message.
I thought someone would be interrested in a left hand drive Bedford;)

at the moment you need to send your piccy to Colin [otherwise known as God] and he will put it on. I don't think he's automated that particular bit yet.
I have tried many times to use the auto thing on the rogue's gallery to put my [and michelle's] piccy on but it keeps saying NO.
I think Colin has set it so that it wont accept it in order that new members wont be scared off.
Personally i don't think Michelle is that scary

Newby
Hi All,
I am a newby to this site and find it very informative and helpful. Last year I bought a 1983 CF CI autohome ,worked on the interior thru the winter ,also getting rid of the rust on the cab ?
We drove it down to portugal in august it was fantastic never missed a beat, the only problem was the exhaust started blowing when we arrived back in the UK. Have now fixed the problem with a new gasket (nightmare getting the rusty bolts out of the manifold) But with patience got it done . Thanks again for a brilliant site.

New Beddy person
Hi, I'm new to beddying ( or is that bedding???) I do check the posts now and again but am looking for some advice on the best set up for my engine. I've put a 2300 slant 4 Victor engine in ( high compression) is there anything I need to watch out for or are they quite straightforward? what sort of MPG should I be getting and what sort of speed will it comfortably cruise at without putting a strain on it - whilst towing? - If it makes any difference it's a 1973 Bedouin camper, can anyone answer my questions please as I'm used to single and twin cylinder bubblecar engines!!!!???

Towing
Hi Jim,:)
It all down to what you want to tow,:?
If it's heavier than a bubblecar you won't get more than 18 mpg. unless your a lucky beddie owner, or unless you like to boast

towing
Thanks Andy, does towing put a lot of strain on the engine or should it be ok? I'm used to towing a caravan with a 600cc car and that was a bit of a struggle. I would have thought that 2.3 litres would be ok - I don't mind the 18mpg, I didn't realise that Beddys were that economical!
better than my old Mk I Tranny camper at 12 mpg!!!

New motorhome owners
Text Text
My family and I have clubbed together and have recently bought a Bedford having never owned one (or any motorhome) before and are complete novices.
My boyfriend and I are taking it away this summer for three weeks in the hope of getting through France and down into Northern Spain. We will have two days with the Bedford before we leave in six weeks time.
Just wonder if there is anyone out there with experience of travelling accross france and spain or any handy hints and tips, words of wisdom that anyone could offer. :)
Thanks from the beginners!

well done Maurice. this thread is for stuff to add to the site rather than specific problems
any mechanical queries should be put in CF questions for beddies or everything except cf's for non beddies.
anythiong else should be in general or whatever heading best suits it. that way everyone can find it easier and answer questions properly

Newby
Have just added my details on map but put pic of myself as don't have one of my Beddie yet - as soon as have one will post it; she's called Mrs Doubtfire and looks like a cross between a van and a small yacht - my grandkids think she's great too. On the site as in life you will find the takers are in greater number than the givers I'm afraid - they want something but don't want to contribute; don't know much about what's under the bonnet yet and am trying to find a short course for same; can anyone tell me how you open the bonnet please - was shown the engine when bought it but can't remember how he opened bonnet - can do my own top up oil and water so not a completely useless female driver!
