Meeting at Oktoberfest 2006

Hello,Beddy-drivers from U.K.and the continent!
Before starting, let me write some notes.
Very nice site about the CF,you´re having here.
Second point:My english is not very Cambridge-stylish amd the
Ortography and Grammatik...well,let´s choose to another point.
I´m an owner of a 1978th Hymermobil based on a CF97300 Bedford.
(I think you call it CF230)
Coming from Ammersbek in Schleswig-Holstein/Germany.
At our Forum www.blitzforum.com we´re looking for a date to have a
meeting 2006 at the Oktoberfest in Munich/Bavaria.
So I think it´s a nice idea to meet CF-drivers from other countries.
If somebody want to visit the Oktoberfest 2006 with his/her Beddy,
so let us know.
Visit our site www.blitzforum.com and LogIn.
In the tread "Treffentermine" you can pose your opinion about this.
I hope we´re getting some answers from you.

Greetings from Ammersbek
Jan

Hi Jan & Roi

To day, I'll say that I will be part of it. But we are speaking of a 1 year time span...Then, if I'm still alive, I'll give it a go

Need long time for orginastion

Hello to all of you.
@Maurice:Really it´s one year,and a long time.But we need about
one year, only start a little meeting in NRW-Anröchte!Our try to
get a date in Bavaria,uhhh...it´s running since spring2004!
So,if we don´t start at the right time, the time is only going to
the past and nothing happens.
@Cass:You´re also allowed to come "per pedes",bike or car-pool,or
riding sheeps or whatever.
Surely,it´s not nessescary to be sick-minded to drive a Beddy, but
it make it easier.;D

The biggest prob is finding a victim, who makes the organisation.
Looking for a place outside Munich with baths and WCs,where it´s
also allowed to BBQ and bring your dogs, pigs and elephants or kids
with you.

Greetings Jan

ah so Jan,, you are the one organising the place where we can take our barbies and pet elephants I hope because I doubt if My german is up to it.
we don't need much us beddie owners
I thought you were swapping bertha for a beddie cassie

for the brave ones thining about it from the UK it is approx 600 miles from Calais. we will need one of our brave mechanicals with us.

I hope we can persuade our dutch contingent to join us there too as well as others that haven't posted for a while ie from Finland and Spain and other places to make it a real international meet of bedfords [and cassie who is one of us at heart]

it sounds fantastic and if it is as good as I remember it will be a lot of fun

Tool-Kit absoloutly must!

Because "/inch-sized tools you don´t get in Germany at every corner.
Distributor-cap,some Spark-plugs,Fan-belt,Rotor,Condensator and
new Contacts(don´t know the right word for it,we call them Unterbrecherkontakt or even Zündkontakte-the little anvil with the
hammer,bound with a spring)will be enough on the parts-side.

"Unterbrecherkontakt or even Zündkontakte"

"Points" is what they're commonly called in English, Jan.

A technical term could be " ignition contact breaker points". All of those words are included in "Unterbrecherkontakt" and "Zündkontakte" but not together!

I better prefer my technical english...

...cause my school-english I remember is not really good for
these thems.
We only learned:This is Peter Pim.This is Betty Ball.
This is Helga.Helga comes from Neustadt in Germany.
They are all sitting in the kitchen...and end of it:
Latif was coming, cooks chicken-curry for all of them and
spiced it really hot,so that Peter,Betty and Helga have to
drive the big white bus of ceramic.;D

First I would use "ignition-breaker" or "breaker-contacts" ,
but than I thought:Oh,no!Totally NOGO!That´s reading like:
...seals are attacking my poor Beddy...;D
At work we use to say to "points" "Kontakte",but I was not really
sure about,if it have the same meaning in english.
When somebody outside the job says: "Bring me some contacts" it get
a complete other sound in your ear.
But it´s good to know, somebody´s there who knews where the beef is.

Greetings Jan

I'm from between Bridgwater & Taunton.

I think Oktoberfest is huge. It tells you all about it here:
http://www.oktoberfest.de/en/

There's also a sort of Somerset version held a few miles from me in July:

Its a little clumsey I know, but if you type translation into google you can find all sorts of sites offering free online translation, it will at least allow you to get the Jist if it, this was the first that came up in my search
http://ets.freetranslation.com/

Viel Glück damit, aber ich habe es liest genauso wie schlecht der andere Weg herum gewettet! Habe ich Recht Jan?!

Nehmen Sie Sorge!

Hi,Cyril.

I´m worry about,but there´s no translator included.
Think,best way is using Tibbsey´s translator-link.
His translation comes really near the truth(with a little bit of
phantasy);D
Most difficult thing is sometimes or very often the direct
translation word for word.So it give some phrases a very interesting
meaning of sense or non-sense.:?
But with a little bit phantasy, you´ll find out where the beaf is.

@Tibbsey:all beginning is hard, but if you´re falling from a horse-
back, the best way is to try it again.;D
Will be happy,if my english is good enough to give a sense to every
phrase I wrote.
If the result is not the same like Monty Phyton´s "And now for something completly Different" Cigar-Shop-Sketch,I´m glad.

Greetings Jan

PS:We´re still working out date and place for Meeting at "Wiesn´2006"
