Hello all
Been a bit of time since I posted here, hope your all OK. The main problem I have had with Nadine has been overheating, I read the many post's here about various solutions, considered buying an additional fan and finally decided that maybe the problem was better solved by working on the existing cooling system. So with the much needed help of a mate removed the old rad, my mate looked at it for a few seconds, one hand on his chin, forehead wrinkled blew out his cheeks and said "In my semi professional opinion mate - it's *!)!!!" (No intent on causing offence)
Anyway took the beastie to a company that look after sick radiators and after a few days went to pick up my lump of rust - there in the shop was a gleaming black all hail the king of rads looking fit for an F1 supercharged motor, speaking to the guy in the shop I said, "I had been having a few overheating probs" He smiled and said "To be honest mate, I'm not bloody surprised - it was not far of being completley screwed!"
The main thinking behind NOT just adding a new fan was reading on this site that beddies used to be used as ice cream vans because they did not overheat, if mine was overheating then it was a problem with the cooling system, not with the general mechanics. So the rad has been refitted and tomorrow I fill up various fluids and oils and see how she goes - wish me luck I may need it!
