A Bedford CF 350 ? Or, something else? A bit of Help, Please. Hi, New to the board and hopefully looking for some pointers in getting some background information on a 'Bedford Maxiome' that I have just purchased and looking to restore. There seems to be limited information on the web for both technical and promotional material in order to get a bit of historical understanding. Also, future engine repair, etc. I have seen it listed as a Bedford CF 350 but struggling to find more info on this 'Maxiome'. (Have also seen Images of same the Maxiome Body on an Inveco Chassis on a younger Motorhome.) The Bedford came with a Certificate of Manufacture from the Vauxhall Heritage Centre (Griffin House) Detailing the Engine and Chassis manufacture in 1981. For some reason its on a 'Q Plate', although the DVLA detail it registered 1st Jan 1981. My thoughts are based on the Original Number Registration being sold as a Cherised Number... ?? Any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully received in help keeping this Bedford on the road. Cheers Mike Text ---------------------- | Sat 01 Aug 2020 @ 19:28

Hi and welcome to the club. I was going to point you in the direction of the brochures HERE so you could get some info on the chassis but I see you have already found them. I can't say that I have ever heard of Maxiome before so it's a new model to me. A few more photos would be nice if you have any. ---------------------- | Sun 02 Aug 2020 @ 19:44

Hi new Bedford owner. Hi,Nice to this body is still around I don't think there were that many made, which engine is in it the four slant or the six cylinder, looks to be in good nick. The Q plate could be because it has regd. abroad or a private plate. doujoy | Sat 08 Aug 2020 @ 16:14

Real classic. Hi,So diesel six cylinder with a ZF gearbox maybe? looks very roomie in body space built no a short truck chassis with twin wheel rear end, should create a lot of interest at shows! doujoy | Wed 19 Aug 2020 @ 10:32

Cheers Dougie. Just started a bit of work on the inside, moving it around to provide a bit more comfort. As you say, quite roomie inside. Basicly, 6'3" high and 6'8" wide which gives great options. Still trying to find more info on the 'Coach Builders' MAXIOME. I am sure there where a British Company, based upon the timber markings and electrical bits I have removed. The only other 'Maxiome' I have seen is the exact body shell on an Inveco Chassis. ---------------------- | Sat 29 Aug 2020 @ 15:01
