Bedford engine.

Hi to all,

After my journey to and from Moffat with oil pressure worries I have decided to make use of an old Bedford CF slant engine I bought three years ago for spare parts and have it re-bored to 20 thou. over-size fit new pistons to it and have the crank-shaft re-ground with under-size big and main bearing shells, then fit it as a short block to breath new life into the Bedford.
Dropped off the block and crank-shaft in Dundee at the company called engine resource yesterday and after having a chat with the boss there came away with some old Bedford training manuals he said he would never use again.
The work they are doing for me will cost around £1,400 inc. vat, all I will have to do is rebuild and fit the engine, they are going to try and find me a new oil pump or get my old one rebuilt.

Bedford engine.

Hi to all,

Quite a good start to that short engine rebuild the block has been bored out to 40 thou oversize and the pistons have been ordered at £90.00 each, crank-shaft has been ground at 10thou off the mains and 20 thou off the big-ends.
The company Engine Resource have managed to find me a band new oil pump all be it at a price £372.00 OUCH, but if the job is worth doing it is a must.
All ready have a clutch and fly-wheel and a head set and sump set so I should be able to stay within the £1,500 doing the rebuild and engine change myself.

Testing time.

Hi to all,

Just finished building and testing another non-return valve for the oil pick up pipe on the rebuilt short block that will find its way into my Bedford CF, and it works well just using an old power steering pump to do the test.+
The engine should be ready to be collected in two weeks time, or at least the parts of it will I can then rebuild it myself.

Arsonist visit.

Hi to all,

Arsonist torched my Bedford CF on Tuesday 31st at twelve minutes past four in the morning, CCTV has picked up some pictures of the guy first trying to light my trailer and then setting fire to the Bedford.
Hope to rebuilt and repair so if anyone has a spare grill or a throttle cable or any wiring loom sections that would be a great help.
Just got the short block rebuilt and ready to be fitted at a cost of £1600 including a new oil pump at a cost of £416 pounds.

Damage survey

Hi to all,

The damage survey is still on going after the fire in the engine bay but I have managed to find some of the parts I will need to get back up and running for next year.

Former club member,Abodator posted this
Wiring Diagram on his webpage.

I would recommend viewing it on a pc as it's extremely large!
