Which new engine is best for 1978 CF2?

Hi, after what seems to be a final breakdown of the engine I'm thinking of fitting a new engine into my CF2 1978. What are the more modern engines that fit best?
Any hints are much appreciated!
Fernando

Hello.. There are a couple of conversions which are either the 2.5 diesel engine and gearbox from the 1990s transit or the 2.3 petrol engine and autobox from the 1990s volvo 940 series. Neither is a straight forward and the vehicle structure will require modification. You should find people who have posted their experiences of these conversions with a bit of searching on the internet. These are both relatively old engine types but still require considerable wiring changes as well. Whatever engine setup you go for you will need all the engine loom, ecu and assoc wiring and anything involving the security immobilisers which were fitted after the mid 90s
