Fine tuning.

Hi to all,

Some exhaust repairs and a recharge of the battery coil supply and testing the magneto output, much easier to start now with a much wider spark plug gap, much wider than the manual setting.

Building a ramp.

Hi to all,

Getting the tractor around to the front driveway has been difficult so I have been busy building a ramp which will allow me to drive the tractor around and load it onto a trailer so that it can be taken to any of the rallies, always hoping there will be some of the rallies on this summer.

The Tractor Drives.

Hi to all,

It has taken a lot of fettling to get this new carb to tune into an engine it was never was designed to fit, but I have got there in the end, had a run up the garden on it yesterday so quite pleased.
Easily started on coil Ign. then switch to magneto once warmed up, and being air cooled then is just a matter of minutes, so now all I need is to have a rally to take it to.

Cut off switch.

Hi to all,

The cut off switch finally fitted and tested, on a tractor without a braking system or clutch release system being able to bring the tractor to a stop in a emergence is must.
If it was working in an open space like a field where you have plenty of time to react or turn but in my small back garden it can get dangerous.

Fuel leaks.

Hi to all,

My alloy adaptor plate has distorted with the heat of the cylinder inlet port and so leaking petrol, so it had to be removed and skimmed level and refitted.
Seems to have worked no leaks so far, starting now on magneto because of better down stroke pulling in fuel with on leaks.
Another step on this long tractor recovery after five years in the water.

Old Ransome.

HI to all,

Bedford is still on sorn so working on the old tractor which is now running and starting well but because of its long time in water the track rolls are sized and worn, these are on longer made for this model of machine so I have decided to try making some out of twenty mm steel rod.
So far I have made two by not using a through spindle but just two half inch drillings into each end with short bolts welded to hold them into place.
the experimental one seems to be working and staying in place.
So just another twenty seven to make and fit, well its raining anyway!

Old Ransome.

Hi to all,

Tractor now runs and drives well but paint work is getting a bit scruffy over the past three and a half years but that can wait until I know if these rollers are going to work out.
