My delayed trip.

Hi to all,

After a three week delay of plans be cancelled the new plan is to sneak off when no one is looking next Thursday morning for a nice gentle run south to Selkirk for two or three nights, followed by an easy gentle run back up maybe on Sunday.
I hope to get away this time before anyone notices I have gone, I should manage a visit back to the tractor before then but so far have not found anybody willing to drag it out of the marshland for me.

Winter returns.

Hi to all,

With the sudden cold snap my poor wee tractor is covered in snow and exposed to a wind that would take the skin off your face, so maybe next week things will warm up and be a bit more summer like.
My trip is still on for an escape on Thursday but travelling south in the hope it will not be so cold, it will be good to get back on the open road.

204 mile round trip.

Hi to all,

Well the old Bedford coped well with the trip, I took the long way around by Stirling down to the M73 then M74 (massif road works) then the A702 across country to Peebles.
I had forgotten it was a Bank-holiday weekend and everybody and his dog was filling up every site in the area so once based in Peebles I travelled around and returned each evening.
Selkirk sites were full so just a day visit but a nice short break ready for the Kelso rally in three weeks time.
My newly acquired inlet manifold has been checked over and new studs fitted for the thermostat housing, gaskets looked out and manifold to head faces skimmed to make sure they are flush and seal with on air leaks.
My own manifold might be repair-able once I get a good look at the thermostat studs, some coolant seeping out one of the stud holes.
Apart from that the old Bedford went well with some oil additive in the engine and the gearbox just to try and reduce ware.

Hi Crawford,

That is good I hope all goes well take it gently the roads are full of nut-cases who seem to want to hang off your exhaust tail-pipe.
