Engine removal
Hi joe,I have taken Bedford engines out a few times,I remove the gearbox and carb first then lift and pull the engine out thr'o the front, you can use a pully .I found it best to have a freand in the cab to guide and help to lift.Don't forget to remove the rad and front.I hope this helps.Cheers Jim.

Oil leaks.
Hi Joe,
Where is the oil leaking from the side of the head and the rear of the crank-shaft or the cam-box?

Oil leaks.
Hi Joe,
These are the most common leak points I have had to deal with over the years, cam-box cork gasket broken or the metal cover out of shape, the oil seal between the block and the head feeding oil up to the cam-shaft, the thrust cover plate on the back of the cam-box, and the sump seals behind the fly-wheel.
And some times the front pulley oil seal on the sump pan, check your breather system is clear of any gunge or if like on my own engine last week the breather pipe had collapsed and shut off the breather system to the air cleaner.
