Gearbox.

Hi to all,

Got a message from a guy today who needs a gearbox down in Shropshire for his 250 CF which lost reverse gear and a lot of lay-shaft teeth, just need to arrange carriage.

Another gearbox.

Hi to all,

These gearboxes seem to be flying off the shelves I will soon be able to swing a cat in my small workshop, and if I get that major clear-out next year I will hardly recognise the place.

And another one bites the dust.

Hi to all,

Farming yesteryear at the weekend seen the sale of another gearbox to a guy down near Edinburgh for his 1981 mark one CF pioneer Bedford with a (wonder which gear I am in now) kind of problem, looks like I will have the fitting of this one as well.

Gearboxes.

Hi to all,

Because of the change from that threaded pipe nut gearstick arrangement to a spring clip on four speed gearboxes in the eighties models a lot of the boxes I have rebuilt have came to me without said spring clip.
So I have put together a spring wire shim washer and rubber insert device which does the job just as well if not better, because it stops that annoying gearstick rattle that seems to start around fifty five miles per hour.
Two of the three gearboxes going out in this month will have this spring clip system, which has been fitted to my own Bedford now for two years and works very well.
My first reason for devising to set up was after travelling down the A9 hitting a pot-hole and being left with the gearstick in my hand but not in the gearbox, seeing the funny side of what had just happened I handed the gearstick to my wife in the passenger seat.
She did not seem to see the funny side, (woman are strange)!
