Hello Jim.
Played around a bit with a turbo during my Volvo phase in the 90's. First thing is that you will need to do is lower the engine compression usually with different pistons as even low pressure turbos increase the load on the bottom end due to a bigger bang as you are pushing in more fuel and air.. Then decide if you are sticking with a carb or changing to injection. You could look at the specification differences between a standard mg metro and a metro turbo to get an idea of what modifications manufacturers carry out. It would be an interesting project and to see a cf drive up the road and then make the snuffy noise as the gate valve pops would surprise a lot of people. I think it could turn out to be a money pit unless you have access to an engineering workshop at mates rates. Andy

turbo

Hi Nndy thanks for your input.I did not realise that I would need to lower the compression more than standard.I think I will shelve this for now.But maybe in the future!Cheers+Beers Jim.
