OIL WARNING LIGHT

Decided to change Oil&Filter, got a shock, very little came out! I hadn't noticed the warning light on when engine was runing. then saw that it didn't come on along with the ignition light. I changed the bulb over with the ignition one it's OK. put test light onto pressure switch cable OK. put test light on bulb holder - nothing! advice please!

get someone to place the wire off the oil pressure switch directly onto a clean bit of the engine whilst the ignition switched on.
if the circuit is good then the oil light will be on. this means that the switch is faulty. if the light in not on try getting your helper to scratch the engine with the terminal just in case its not making contact.
if this fails then you will need to trace the wire back via the bulkhead connection on the drivers side , it could be dirty contacts in there
