Headlights flashing on or off

Any suggestions for how to fix headlights that do not stay on?

The problem is more than likley to be the switch.Yours may have a heat fuse on it.Best is to replace the switch.Cheers+Beers,Jim.

I had similar problem. I found it was the dip,main ,indicator stalk connection was not plugged in proper. Could try that

Hi the problem could be one of many things including the following;

On my CF1 I have the original pull switch for the headlights that's mounted on the dash. As you drive along the lights will go out after around 5 minutes and then if you turn them off and on again they'll come on ..... & then off.
The reason is that a previous owner upgraded the bulbs so that they now draw more current. the switch has a thermal fuse on it to prevent too much current going through the dash circuit boards ( you really DO NOT want to burn this out).
The solution to this is to add separately powered relays and control these from the switch.
See one of my previous posts asking how to do this. It's still on my list of jobs to do , sigh.
