Headlights and tail lights out?? Can anyone help please?? We went for a little jolly yesterday, when I pulled the switch to put the headlights on last night I got nothing, also the tail lights are out too..Main beam is working on the stalk as are the fog lights.. I`ve checked the obvious, fuses , earth etc.. Could it be the switch knackered? I`ve had no warning of this problem at all, no intermitment problem whatsoever. Looking forward to your help as ever.. Cheers..Den and loz. (Living in the dark). ![]() ![]()

Was the fuse check a visual one or a continuity meter one?I once had a fuse that had actually come away from the inside of the cap, visually it looked fine. If your switch is the older one like this there's a couple of things to check. Undo the 4 screws but keep the two halves held together, there's a spring inside so release slowly. Check the surfaces are clean & not worn. Make sure the little spring is intact, maybe give it a little stretch to ensure contact. You could apply a small dab of vaseline or grease to keep out any moisture. Stick it all back together & keep your fingers crossed! ---------------------- |

Light switch Hi, Can remember a few years ago a friend of mine and I was returning from a rally when suddenly he pulled over with no lights, it was his light switch, I carried a spare and replacing it cured the problem, have heard of them going before thats why I carry a spare. Just a thought. |

Gonna get one. Hi BJ, Thank you for the advise. I`m going to try a get a spare too.I had to drive home the other night holding the indicator stalk forward so I was on full beam and my rear fog lights on so I was illuminated..I only had to drive for about 25 miles , even so , did I annoy other drivers very much???? You fill in the answer...Cheers..Den. |
