CF facelift fuel float problem

Hi all,

the fuel gauge in my ageing beauty has stopped working. Took it to the mechanic, he tested the wiring, and the gauge is apparently working fine. He seems to think that it's the float within the fuel tank itself that has stopped working, so how do I get hold of one of them?!?

There are a few universal ones on ebay, depending on depth of tank(which i don`t know off hand)bound to be one thats up to the job, fuel gauge not working being a common problem on most vans i`m sure there has to be an alternative, that members have used, hope you get sorted out.Out of curiousity how did the mech check gauge, sometimes the earth on tank unit snaps off, discovered that was my problem when replacing tank earlier this year.

I'm not sure how much checking he actually did, only that he checked the wiring behind the gauge itself, but will follow up with that suggestion. I'll have a look on E-bay as well, and see if I can find a universal one that would do the trick.

Cheers.

Stu.
