Need to replace ALL glass seals on my CF camper - help!

Hi all,

I've just bought a lovely 1985 CF campervan, she's watertight but due to her age and living outdoors, all of her window, windscreen and door rubbers have perished pretty badly and are leaving black streaks all over her - it's a nightmare to get off your clothes too if you touch them! I'm having terrible difficulty finding anywhere that supplies said seals though-due to her age so wondered if anyone had any experience of this or could recommend a supplier/company who would do it?

Many thanks.

Seals Direct can sell you all the door seals you need, plus most side window seals too but that depends on what windows you have got I guess.

They're quite helpful but they will recommend you send them 1cm samples of what you need if you aren't surer exactly what you're buying.

Windscreen seals...

EastKentTrim supplies claims to have CF windscreen rubbers. Also swears blind there's no difference between a CF(1) screen rubber and a CF2 screen rubber. Others here disagree with that saying they are different. Yours is a facelift CF(1) I believe, so I don't know if yours is one or t'other, or if it even matters... if what EastKentTrimSupplies says is true, their stock should fit your van.

as for back door windows... not sure where to suggest you go for those, but maybe Adrian Bailey Classics can help you?

Narbeth ?... hope she likes hills

(I did Ironman Wales last September and recall a cheeky little CF1 I saw peeking out and parked up on a side street each time up the hill)

A bloke I met who does car window fitting says that the back door window seals are exactly the same as the Mini ones. I got mine from Adrian Bailey but he asks £70 for a pair, Mini rubbers will be cheaper.

Depends, of course if your van has the normal CF back doors.

Okay, so having read this and the 80-90 forum on repainting with a roller. I invested in a grinder and some Vactan and spent a very satisfying weekend trying to get to the bottom (or bare metal!) of my rust issues Though I realise I have a heck of a lot to learn about being a classic vehicle owner-especially having introduced my Beddy ('Mabel') as a CF camper in my first post...turns out she's actually a 1985 Bedford Autohome!! Duh So I only need to replace the rubbers on the cab windows, windscreen and little window on the front of the sleeping area above the cab-no back window rubbers to worry about. Having said that though, does anyone know if one can replace the seals in the driver/passenger door windows? It's just that Mabels seem to be leaking water into the door! On a brighter note though she seems okay on hills-Narberth can be a bit of a nightmare to negotiate though!
