distributor

My distributer has almost given up the ghost with lost of play in it due to bad wiring of electronic igninion from the previous owner. It is a 1984 sland 2.3 engine, the distributer is stamped 91035803 does any one know where i could locate a replacement?

Bosch distributor (brown cap)? ABC in Leeds might have one.

Where is the play? Distributor might be repairable.

Hi,the distributordocter.com only deals with Lucas distributors and not Bosch units. If you can post a photo or describe the part that you think has excess movement then we will be able to give you the correct advice on what can be done to resolve the problem. There are lots of posts on the bosch distributor if you use the search engine. Phil posted quite an in depth display of the Bosch Electronic system. I have had a Quote of £117.00 for an exchange unit from a local motor factor. ABC also had them in stock but for a lot more money.
In my experiance they still work without misfires when there is a fair bit of wear on the shaft, although it is more satisfying to know that wear is within the tolerence allowed. Keep us informed of your progress as this is what the forum is about. regards.

Thanks for all the replies, i've noticed it's been worn for about a year and it has started to back fire randomly, sure turns heads tho I've contacted adrian@roverland via email and it sounds promising so far. It's nice to have a rough price to work with thanks "auldreekie" Where would i post photos of my van etc on the site?
