1977 CF motorhome - sealing my roof waterproof hi all,a friend and I have just bought a 1977 bedford cf camper and are have some concerns about rainwater/damp getting in. If anyone here might own or have some experience with these then any helpful info you have would be much appreciated. In our case, some of the wood around the bed area above the driver's cabin is rotten. We've fixed that but are still concerned about water getting in longterm so we ordered some sealant online. I think the sealant forms a protective layer that treats the whole roof rather than something that's applied here and there to plug trouble spots, and I'm just reading now that if the surface is something else like rubber maybe then a primer is needed (this stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Kool-Seal-34-600-1-Kool-Lastik-Primer/dp/B0016487NG. anyway, here's a van identical to ours... http://www.classic-campers.co.uk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/ScreenShot003.jpg ...would anyone know is the roof on these fibreglass or something different? I've noticed a few similar vans on ebay before with damage and even holes developing up in those corners in the upper bed area. seems to be a common rot spot maybe. Any help or advice on where water might tend to get in on this model and how best to go about fixing would be greatly appreciated. thanks ---------------------- |
