Reversing light switch
Any of you clever bods have any idea if these are repairable?
Every time I connect it up with the ignition on, the fuse blows.
It's a 4 speed box (I assume it's a standard one) from a 1981 CF1 250.
They seem to be like hens teeth. Adrian Bailey had one, but when I rang it had gone. And he wanted almost £60 for it as well.

First of all which box as there are 2 4 speed boxes.
If its the vauxhall/bedford box then the switches are easy to find.
If its a ZF box then theses are very hard to find.....

Didn't know there was more than one type.
However, it is easily accessed from under the passenger side. Both of the wires were left dangling by the previous owner. I can now see why.

Switches very rarely causes fuses blow, this is down to wiring or shorted bulb holders.
Try disconnecting the rear lamps if fuse still blows then disconnect the switch .
you will need to crawl under the Beddy to trace all the wiring though...

Also, to eliminate a suspected switch fault, connect the switch contacts together- a paperclip will do the trick. If fuse still goes, the switch is fine and it is a wiring fault. If the lights work and the fuse doesnt, theres something very odd going on with the switch.

Facelift rear lamps can fill up with water if the lens is cracked ...
Wire to go for when checking for rear wiring short circuit is green+brown; sometimes can be confused with green+red (left hand turn signal).

The Rockbus is in getting some welding and a new coat of paint at the mo. I'll check this lot when I get him back.
I was assuming it's the switch though, because when it's connected, the ignition is on and reverse is not engaged, the fuse blows. I'll check.
Thanks guys.
