Fitting a CD Player

Hi all
I am wanting to fit a cd player in the cab of the van but I am not sure where to put it. I have got a metal bracket and was thinking of fiting it on the dashboard but then if I need to flip the dashboard up to access the engine at any point the cd player would have to be removed. Does anyone have any ideas about where else to put it or a way round the problem.
Many Thanks!

See whether the player will hang from the underside of the dash above the parcel shelf; player will have to be tight against the dash for the shelf to clear it but only if the player isn't too long from front to back.

Mine is hung under the flip up dash, but has really long leads on it to allow for the flip. It sits snug in the middle of the engine bump, the leads run straight across behind tucking quite neatly out the way. It needs to be mounted quite far forward to allow the plugs room at the back. Hope this helps a bit! Alena

Have you any space above the windscreen? Once you have power there, speaker cables should be quite straightforward. Making a cradle for it should be a simple matter.

Hi John, i reccommend mounting the stereo on the dashboard, above the flip up part

(image stolen from ScoobyDoo)

our stereo was mounted in that place when we bought the van and looks neat, plus, it doesn't affect the flip up dashboard, i've took the engine cover off many times in the van, and it's never fouled on the stereo. To mount it, I advise you use one of these 350510618193, it secures to the dash with four screws and hides all the metal parts. This seems like the simplest way of mounting a stereo on a later CF
