Wing mirrors

I have the ball joint wing mirrors I believe the type from the land rover ,they were hanging on when I bought the van,so iv respayed them butam struggling to refit them,is there any hints or tips?

Two people: one to hold the arm in place while the other fiddles with the bolts.

Tie a length of cord to a ring spanner to use on the bolts & tie the cord end over the lock button so that you can retrieve the spanner when you drop it inside the door.
