Arrived home safe - JUST :) Having had a really good time at Doone Valley, John and I started home.Things started to go wrong straight away - my expensive new/old style plates were the first casualty - the back plate had dropped on one side and must have been dragging for about 3 miles - some slight damage. Next, John pulled up too close to a bush to let a car go by (he really must lose that habit) and broke the new aerial that he had put on. Thirdly we managed to find a petrol station open just outside Taunton, on pulling away the van 'backed fired' really LOUD (should it do that) half a dozen people hit the ground and we just drove away 'quitely'. We had trouble getting home with the traffic and the van 'acting up'. Only to discover when home that we had a hugh hole in the tail pipe, had lost the metall end (blew off I expect and was somewhere in the petrol station's window) and the exhaust was busted in three places - Oh nearly forgot on driving down to Doone Valley on the Saturday, decided to visit Taunton, John had difficulty parking, so decided that a disabled bay would do and picked up a £30 fixed penalty for his trouble (that will teach him). Still life is an adventure and driving a beddie is certainly that!! GREAT FUN---------------------- | Wed 14 Apr 2004 @ 12:25 |

Hi Yes, you really do have to get used to the bushes/trees when driving a CF. I've got some nice scratches from past 'experiences' So, you're the culprits for the bomb scare in Taunton eh? It's not the best place for parking in a car and a total nightmare in a CF. We did manage to find a 'friendly' car park last year but there's no way I could describe haw to get there. It's one of those 'ah yes, we went down there' type things. Well, glad you eventually made it home in one peice and look forward to seeing you (and all the others) at the next meet :) ---------------------- | Sat 17 Apr 2004 @ 17:41 |
