BBCode foibles

Something I've noticed when uploading photos from googlephoto is that if the URL has something in it that translates as a smilie, e.g. 8 followed by D, , then the output In Preview (& I assume the actual post on the forum but I've not fallen foul of that ...yet) is a torn sheet thumbnail & then what's let of the URL after the D.

Workaround is to delete the photo with the offending URL (from googlephoto in my case), re-upload it & then use the new URL.

Similar happens in plain text sometimes: laws of chance I suppose but something to be aware of if nothing else.

Hello Phil,
Yes we had this problem when we were doing the list for Pickering. As we added to the list we ended up with this character instead of 8 )

This is a bit of a problem to fix as the software has no way of telling if you are typing a 8 ) or a I'll see what I can do but don't hold your breath
